Reading the latest doom and gloom about how Vista is going to destroy the world it appears critics think that because Vista now provided support for both IPv4 (the current internet addressing protocol) and IPv6 (the new, shiny and much improved flavour that will ensure internet connected fridges for everyone) that it's going to crash the existing Domain Name Server (DNS) infrastructure.

Of course, as the article points out, an equal number of pundits think it's nonsense.

Still, whatever the result of the adoption of Vista, and it's impact on DNSs the world over I'm glad to be using OpenDNS as an alternative. As well as speeding up web access, protecting me from phishing attacks, and curing spelling mistakes in URLs I can now view it as a shelter from the impending melt-down of the internet!
